How do you paint around an alarm keypad?

If I loosen the panel the house alarm goes off, if I switch the electric off at the board the alarm goes off.

There’s a bit we can’t get to.

Can you put making tape on the keypad so that it doesn't matter if the paint gets on it?

We did that before and it works but the gaps about 4mm wide and I’m covering b4own with cream.

It’s going to take ages.

Do you have a small artists brush or a cotton bud?

push clean stiff card under the edge of the panel so you can paint the wall behind it. A small, soft, long bristled brush may be suitable. Clean out all the dust and cobwebs first. You might notch it for the fixing screws in the corners.

When you come to roller the rest of the wall, wrap the panel in clingfilm, with enough of the back covered that it will not get painty.

Ok, I’ll combine those tips. It’s occurred to me we have stain blocker which should reduce the number of coats needed.

Read the manual. I'm certain there'll be a way to disable the keypad (with the code), for when you (or the engineer) are doing system maintenance.

An angled fitch brush is very good for getting neat edges close to things that can't be moved.
