Do i need planning permission for a drive? Will be breaking up current concrete path and removing some hedging. No gates being installed and new drive will be permeable. No dropped kerb needed either as current one is very low

Yes you need permission for a hard standing. Look on your local councils website and it should tell you that you need permission for a drive.

Access for a vehicle will also need approval. It isn't just a case of having a low kerb there's other stuff to take into account such as highway safety and engineered paving.

Think you need a dropped kerb regardless. Otherwise access can be blocked.

Thank you all thats helpful. From what i'd read we didn't need permission if a permeable surface and not removing a solid boundary so your replies really help. Best get some plans drawn up for submitting!
