Help for which kitchen splashback, quartz, tiles or glass for handleless kitchen

Hi
I'm just starting having my kitchen fitted which is a kind of putty (white/pale grey) handleless matt kitchen. I have chosen a quartz splashback which is white/grey tones (has a pattern in it that looks a bit like fossils , hard to explain) but I can't decide on splashback. Me and other half go round in circles disagreeing so wondered what you all thought, Are glass splashbacks dated now?
I am talking about a wall which is 3.5m long x 55 cm high (to underside of cupboards) as extractor hidden in a cupboard so no natural break in the units for splashback just behind the hob.

If yes do you think tiles work with matt handleless kitchens as I do like herringbone patterns or hexagons but not sure if will look too fussy with worktop and kitchen.
Or should I splurge on granite for splashback.

This isn't my forever house as will move in a couple of years so need it to have broad appeal too.

Any thoughts gratefully received. Many many thanks Smile

I have quartz worktops and have quartz backsplash and upstands, I feel it gives a neater finish but I don't think I would have done this if I wasn't staying in the house for long due to the expense.

I have granite worktops and upstands with granite behind the hob up to the extractor. Then glass to keep the wall clean. We love it!

We have a new pale grey handless kitchen, with white quartz worktops (with a grain running through the worktops).

Our splash back is glass, and we didn't have any upstands. It fills the whole gap from the worksurface to the wall cupboards & extractor, including behind the hob.

It looks really good (at least I think it does!) - very sleek & minimal.

I wouldn't personally have tiles as the grout will be a nightmare to keep looking clean & fresh.

I have a grey Silestone worktop with an upstand.
I loathe tiles and their horrible grubby grouting and have a glass panel behind my induction hob, which has an extractor over it.
The rest of the walls are just painted white and two years on from fitting the kitchen they're fine - I'm just careful to wipe any splashes.
I find a microfibre cloth, like an e-cloth, keeps both the glass and the worktops looking good.

We have glass splash back in a similar sounding kitchen, but we matched the splash back colour to the wall colour, so it blends in. Cleaning it is so much easier than tiles!

I have white glass behind my hob only and painted white walls either side ...still looks good and was a lot cheaper than a full run...

Many thanks for all of your thoughts. Sounds like most of you like glass or the same surface as worktop rather than tiles. Cheers x
