How do I cover this??

We've got loads of marks like this around the house, this is a big one, but generally they're little holes from where plugs and screws have been taken out of the wall. Last owner has clearly tried to fill and sand and paint over but it's not covered it.

My guess is just a few layers of paint, but don't want to waste my time waiting for a million layers of paint to dry if there's a smarter solution. Plus they've obviously tried this and it's not worked

It's going by through to plaster board I think as it's a new build and so we're getting s bit of a papery texture under, do I'm reluctant to sand anymore anyway!

Thanks!!

Did they use no more nails, I had someone drill a wooden plinth into my wall, so I can hang curtain poles.

They used loads of 'no more nails' as well, I remembwr he put loads on, so when I unscrewed to wooden plinth, loads of plaster has come of with it.

Also in a new build.

I'm not sure actually! I assumed no as we still found a few plugs in some holes. What did you do to fix yours?

I would use pollyfilla on that. Buy a tool too for smoothing it and then rub down when dry. I always test any pollyfilla filled holes by closing my eyes and running my hand over them. If you can't feel any bumps or where the original defect was, it's smooth enough for painting.
It's difficult to judge the size from your pic, but could it have been one of those command strip things?

Tried some polyfiller over it and sanded down and it made it worse 🙈

That one is about 6 inches long!
The rest are about an 1/2 inch.
They're a bit bumpy but not too horrendous it's more just the they're dark and white paint doesn't seem to be covering it!

Oh dear, I am sorry. You might be best to get some advise from a professional painter/decorator.

You can buy 'stain stop' paint which is good for blocking out dark patches but won't do anything to smooth it over.

Hang a picture over it??
