Bespoke joinery costs

We’re currently looking at converting a box room into a dressing room and we’re after a rough idea of costs for bespoke joinery. We’re mainly looking at fitted wardrobes with hanging space/ drawers and doors so our mess isn’t on show!

Has anyone done similar? I am going to try and get some quotes over the next few weeks but keen to have a rough guide so I know if we’re being ripped off or not!

Try www.jali.co.uk . On their we site you can plan and see your own cabinets, so you can add drawers or shelves or leave space for hanging rail etc etc . It all arrives to size and ready to assemble.

Depends where you are. SW London around £1500 per linear metre. Don't discount an Ikea hack; their wardrobes can be fitted in with cornice and skirting, primed and painted - look amazing. We do this a lot (builders) and I prefer them to our bespoke cupboards.

Thanks all.
Ikea hacks are currently being considered as it seems the most cost effective way to go. Any tips with the Ikea solutions?

Bespoke joinery can cost a lot as the specification varies considerably.

A standard type might start at £5k but could go into the high 10's of thousands

I came on the thread to suggest Ikea Pax with fancier doors but the Jali site looks interesting. @HumptyNumptyNooNoo have you used them yourself?

MiniMum97 · 24/02/2019 22:11

@SarahSea1 how do you fit an Ikea wardrobe with cornice and skirting. They seem to come right to the floor? Do you have any pics you could upload as an example. Struggling to understand how this would work.

@minipie yes - for lots of items - book shelves, radiator covers, under bed drawers etc etc . All brilliant.

Thanks Humpty! Will definitely check them out further, thanks for the tip

Have you looked at Jali OP? I first read about it on here and am about to order a cupboard to fit a gap.

Boxlikeahare · 25/02/2019 09:07

Oh sorry Blush, I have just seen that Humpty suggested Jali yesterday.

Humpty, can I ask if you have cut your stuff around the skirting boards, that's the bit I can't get my head round.
