Has anyone got brick slip tiles in their kitchen?

I really love the look of bricks in the kitchen - see photo. You can create the look using brick slip tiles. Has anyone done this? Are they a nightmare to clean? We're planning to have them by the hob.

Thanks

No picture but your assumption is correct
Even not by the job they are a nightmare to clean... behind the hob are impossible to clean

Thanks for the reply. As I thought then. If we have a glass splash back over the top do you think that would be ok?

We have a glass splashback over our tiles by the hob, it looks really good and so easy to keep clean.

That's interesting sleepy booty. Can I ask where you got it?

Also, do you find that splashes get on other parts of the wall that aren't covered by the glass?

Looks lovely but I'm sure it would be a nightmare to clean (unless you just didn't clean it?!). It's just not possible to wipe splashes off rough bricks without leaving half the cloth behind. I also think you have to be very careful with "recreated" exposed brick as it can look awful.

We got it from B&Q and you can hardly notice it's there.
We don't have splashes anywhere other than the glass, definitely recommend.

Thanks Sleeping Booty!

This protects against oil/grease and water stains. brickslips.co.uk/brick-slip-accessories/193-brick-slips-tile-seal-and-protect.html

Thank you MsMama, that's so helpful. Had no idea such a thing existed but it sounds ideal. Have you experience of using it?

My sister has used it. Has had no problems with staining from splashes of food. Uses a cloth with no loose fibres to clean/wipe it down when tidying up in the kitchen. It looks as good as the day it was fitted.

I had a travertine rough brick bonded surround around the kitchen and splash back.
It was all sealed and whilst rough it was easy enough to clean but I did have to renew the grout around the cooker after 4 years due to scrubbing most of the grout out when cleaning that area.
