What type of floor do I need to achieve this look?

I really love the wide planks with the visible line between each, I've found lots of engineered wood planks that look similar but not sure if they would just sit flush to each other and therefore just look like continuous flooring iyswim?

Any ideas?!

They look like wood effect tiles, we have them in our bathroom

Sorry, just to be clear, it's the planks in the kitchen rather than the tiles outside...you have to click on the image to see properly I think

You do get long tiles that look like floor boards.

ughhhhh · 18/02/2019 16:55

Ah ok, sorry I didn't realise! I'll look it up, thank you

I've never seen wood/laminate in long pieces like that. Any that I've ever seen or owned is only a metre long planks.

It definitely looks like wood/laminate but all I can think that I've seen is vinyl flooring that's continuous like that

Titsywoo · 18/02/2019 16:56

Yes it's probably amtico or karndean

FloatingthroughSpace · 18/02/2019 16:59

We are having lvt (ours is polyflor iirc) laid like that to emulate the floorboards elsewhere in the house. I think they were termed "style strips".

FloatingthroughSpace · 18/02/2019 17:00

Sorry "design strips".

FloatingthroughSpace · 18/02/2019 17:03

Like this! This same floor can be laid with or without the spacers. We are having it with.

Well at least I have accomplished one good thing today 😂

EvaHarknessRose · 18/02/2019 17:10

Look at bamboo types too.

MyNameIsJane · 18/02/2019 22:19

Yes, I’m intending on getting a Polyflor wide plank style too with the design strips.

Orchardgreen · 19/02/2019 09:18

Karndean call that ships decking style. The strips come in different widths, eg 5, 8mm

fishseddy · 19/02/2019 09:18

Thanks @Orchardgreen will
Check that out!

they are called "bevel-edge boards" or "bevelled". This gives the groove where they meet.

PigletJohn · 19/02/2019 10:26

here's an example of bevelled

grooves in the floor are ideal for collecting crumbs, mud, and congealed yoghurt.

@orchardgreen - love your pup!
