Choose from: wood, white marble, maybe white bevelled edge tiles, metal...

So, wood cabinets, white marble surface, metal splashback?
Wood surface, white cabinets,marble spalshback?
Wod cabinets, metal surface, white tiles?

Can't decide ....help,help,help!

white cabinets, warm wood worktop, white tiles

the metal will be a sod to clean wherever you put it and will always look streaky

I'd have wood surface and white tiles and metal cabinet doors with those options.

ScummyMummy · 04/07/2007 22:14

or white cabinets if you want to lose the metal, yes.

forgot to say, floor is terracotta tiles and walls will be white, stairs with wooden treads leading up to 1st floor from kitchen.

If i have terracotta floor, warm wood cabinets and white marble surface what would you choose for the splashback? Any suggestions in any colour and material welcome!

You could always use Corian rather than marble and have a molded worktop & splashback....

Malaleche · 04/07/2007 22:45

Always assumed getting corian molded to fit was expensive? Really prefer natural materials like wood or marble....

I would want tiles. Maybe coloured tiles to break up the white? My friend has lovely duck egg blue tiles. Or white tiles because the terracotta floor will be enough colour?

'Tis quite expensive but a great finish (can look very stone/marble-like depending on the colour you choose); doesn't streak; cleans up very easily & extremely practical for dumping hot pans etc. Far more resilient than wood, tile or marble. Definitely worth a thought but understand if you prefer the idea of a more natural material.

thanks all!
