Living near tube and overground lines - ? A problem

I am about to buy my first property... A one bed on Sinclair Road, W16. My slight concern is it faces the overground and underground tracks (the approach to Kensington Olympia) Does anyone have experience of living in proximity to these lines in particular?

I've lived near tube lines, and within a week you stop noticing it.

And if it's just the Tube to Kensington Olympia you'll be fine! They hardly ever run, and certainly not late at night.

I grew up in a house that backed into a tube line. It really wasn't a problem - we never noticed it all.

I can feel the tube underneath me when I am a build that is above it/near it but I don’t think it’s really an issue. It’s not an unpleasant sesnsation.

My friend used to live on that street, it's a great location! You won't get tube noise as the tube doesn't get to the end of the street (and hardly runs anyway). I don't remember hearing the train to be honest when I was there and I know none of them ever mentioned it but a- you get used to it (used to live with the District line at the end of my back yard) and b- I don't think the trains through there run overnight at the moment so it shouldn't be something which stops you sleeping.

What is really annoying is if they do works on the line, as this tends to be overnight and can be really really loud! But doesn't happen very often.

you will also have the Overground trains, they start at 6 and run through to past midnight, about 100 a day. However, as others have said, you'll soon get used to it

Re Overground trains - bear in mind freight trains use certain overground lines through the night. That really put us off offering on a place backing onto an overground track as we are a family of light sleepers. If you're not a light sleeper am sure you would be fine.
