What are these weird wall stains?

We've moved into a new house and can't afford to paint yet. We have these weird stains all up the wall in a bedroom. Don't shift easily with water and it's a painted wall. Any ideas? Honestly wondering if it's poo...

Cover your flooring in case of accidental splashing and another vote for using dilute bleach in water - whatever the marks are, the bleach will 'sterilise' them and should fetch them off.

I'd use heavy duty rubber gloves and a thick microfibre cloth rinsed and squeezed out often.

We have similar on the wall in the kids room. It's caused by them scuffing shoes on the wall, and also toy dinosaurs too. If it doesn't smell of poo then it probably isn't. Just get a small pot of paint - ask friends or relatives for part pots leftover - and cover it up.
