Extension advice - fit kitchen via builder or seperately

I'm currently getting quotes in to do a single storey kitchen extension, one of the builders has quoted to fit the kitchen but it seems expensive at £3k plus vat (this is just for fitting a kitchen that we'd supply). The other builder I've received a quote back from has stated he is not including kitchen fitting in the cost. My question is whether I should source a kitchen fitter myself seperately to save on costs? I'm mindful of the fact however that having one person handle it all could have a lot of advantages though.

Hoping someone with previous experience here can advise and comment here. Thanks!

i would always out source the fitting to a kitchen fitter
we have sold many kitchens to people who have had extensions and sometimes the kitchen fitter comes in a little more than the builder finishing off an extension but almost every customer has said they wished they had used a fitter rather than the builder.
Kitchen fitters (if good) tend to have a better finish on the bits that count and 90% of them take cash but dont tell anyone :)
Having different trades in working around each other doesnt cause problems as they all do it all the time

Check exactly what the quote includes - when you say the builder hasn't quoted for fitting the kitchen, is that literally the installing of the kitchen cabinets? Our builder fitted the kitchen, principally because he employed a brilliant joiner who had done our wardrobes and knew he'd do a good job, but also so it was a seamless job. The electrics for the kitchen were quoted separately (as they were dependent to an extent on the appliances etc) so check if that's covered in your quote.
