30s semi, freezing box room. Anyone else?

We live in a 30s semi and the box room is noticeably colder than the other bedrooms. It is on the corner of the house so two exterior walls. Any suggestions on how we can warm it up? My daughter is due to be moving into it and if I need to do something major I'd rather do it before she does.

I remember the 30s house I grew up in had a cold box room, the exterior windowless wall used to get condensation on it and my dad ended up putting wood panelling up for insulation. This is not the 90s though and I'm not sure I am ready to bring tongue and groove back. So what else could I do?

We're in a 1930s semi and noticed that when we first moved in. We checked the window - it wasn't particularly effective (double glazing was incorrectly installed) so we got that sorted. Also replaced the single fin radiator with a bigger (modern) radiator which is much more effective. We also moved the bed from against the exterior wall - not sure whether it allowed air to circular or because we put a desk / little wardrobe there, it insulated it a bit more.

We have a 30's semi too. We have one with an arched porch below the box room. We haven't had put an outer door in the arch so the room is always colder than the other bedrooms. We have used thermally insulated underlay below the carpet. We have also insulated the ceiling of the porch with loft insulation and uPVC cladding. It's helped a bit.

Insulated underlay sounds a great idea. Our loft is insulated and it's just house underneath rather than porch.

There is an air vent in the room too which surely can't help, but I'm not sure if we can block it up.

We had a massive great air brick hole in ours, have to admit we put a polysterene box in it and cardboard over the front in winter, it was freezing otherwise.

We have a room that is 'last' on the hot water circuit for the radiators and it never seems to get properly warm. We bought an extra freestanding oil-filled radiator (about £60) with a themostat and it's really helped. And I don't think they're too expensive to run.
