Possibly silly question regarding painted shaker kitchens

After seeing an amazing kitchen on here in the style of Devol using Ikea cabinets and made to order doors (if anyone has a link to that please post it because I can’t find it now) I have my heart set on this.

But the painted doors ... if you spilt something on them and wiped it off does the paint come off too or are they sealed with something?

Thank you

I don't know what paint they use, but it's about 3 coats, it doesn't come off

The paint doesn’t come off. It does crack along the joints though... that’s the main reason I now have a slab door on my kitchen.

Just like if you wipe a door in your house, presuming they’re painted.

Thank you.

Disappointing to hear about the cracking though.

My paint hasn’t cracked but that is I think because our doors are painted mdf father then wood.

If the kitchen is heavily used (eg kids slamming doors) then a painted shaker isn’t the best idea due to cracking. If it’s lightly used then you’ll probably be fine.

Ours is painted in oil based eggshell, no cracking and no it doesn’t come off. It has however chipped a bit, eg around the edges of openings or where buttons/rivets on clothes rub against the cabinets. Or where small DC have ridden trikes in the kitchen. Not sure any kitchen would have stood up to that too well mind you and at least painted can be repainted!

Was it plykea or bespokea?
