Where do you dry your laundry?

Sorry I don't currently live in UK and will be moving over in a few months. Where do you all dry your laundry apart from by using a tumble dryer? Any aesthetically pleasing solutions?

Washing line most of the year. Winter months(Nov-Jan), they are on the line to dry a little but need drying properly. I put them on radiators, which is not ideal.
I tend to wear things that dry quickly in the winter.

Tumble dryer all year round

Tumble drier in the small utility room ( stacked on the washing machine) there are some rails in there and a peg hanger . Extractor fan.

A cheapy Aldi heated rail

A regular foldable/extendable airer (by the radiator)

Peg hangers for socks/pants./bras

One of those airers for caravan windows but we hang it from the banister over the stairwell.

When things are nearly dry I hang them on the radiators to finish

BubblesBuddy haha just seen you have cubby holes and am now v jealous!! I just have a long work surface I put neatly folded piles on then various family members come and mess them up!! Oh and a large box with miscellaneous socks in it!

Seriously though I adore my laundry room and my drying rail it makes me feel very organised (although at the moment there are two basket of laundry sitting on the floor waiting to be folded.

@PigletJohn great to see your tips here, thank you.

Can you please explain why one should close the window and doors while the extract fan is on?! I'm so out of touch I thought extra ventilation was a good thing?!

Randomneim · 30/01/2019 00:25

Thanks, helpful.

You shut the doors and windows so the extractor can create suction to prevent steam drifting into the house. Warm moist air rises towards the ceiling and is sucked outside. Dry air enters the bathroom through the gap under the door and stratifies in a layer under the warm moist air.

Currently: tumble dryer and drying rack in spare room (no moisture issues as the windows are ancient draughty Victorian)

Post refurb: tumble dryer and Sheila maid in the new utility (3.1m ceiling). Maybe a wall rack too if I find the space.
