Copper pipe leak HELP!

Help! I've got a slow drip leak on my copper pipe and currently having difficulty getting plumbers in. Can anyone recommend a tried and tested method for a temporary repair until I can get one in or attempt the repair myself later on.

Sylglas plumber fix?
I've read about putting rubber and hose clip it. What kind of rubber and where can I find it?

are you able to turn off the stopcock and run the taps so there is no water pressure in the pipe?

Show us some photos please.

I can't post pic on here as I'm new to the site.

It's an extremely slow intermittent drip and I'm just using a bucket at the moment. I can turn off the stopcock but how 'technical' it'll be afterwards that I need to balance/bleed/etc? I was hoping that I can just tape/putty it over temporary for now.

I can't see a hole or a joint in your pic. Where is the leak? is it a split from freezing?

If the pipe is full of water under pressure, the leak will push off sealant before it sets.

is it a radiator pipe? A cold water supply pipe? For a hot tap? have you got a water tank in the loft?

show me more of the pipe run please.
