Okay, so there will be some people who love it but I can only imagine how much was spent creating this and, in my opinion, it's a monstrosity!!

Such a shame... Canterbury

Awful. I can see what they were aiming for but it's awful. The big tiles on the kitchen floor don't look right with that kitchen, the curved breakfast bar doesn't look right with the style kitchen, all of the wooden flooring looks naff.. year it's awful. A big shame because could have been beautiful.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 23/01/2019 21:37

Re the personal taste.
I think a very trendy couple designed and built it, chose all the expensive and quirky items then fell out over the right colour of toilet paper and split up

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 23/01/2019 21:38

Is that a floating piano in the library?

BentNeckLady · 23/01/2019 21:41

That fire thing is bloody awful isn’t it! And that doorway Shock

Beautiful building with a completely tasteless interior.

MiceSqueakCatsMeow · 23/01/2019 21:44

The fire looks like lips and fire for teeth. I liked the rooms upstairs that had the large windows. The staircase was pretty, but I wouldn't want it as the main staircase. If it is how would you get furniture upstairs. Also the upstairs is very under developed.
Just disappointing.

petitdonkey · 23/01/2019 21:44

elastic I agree with you on the kitchen floor tiles- they look so cheap and nasty...

OP posts:
petitdonkey · 23/01/2019 21:45

That is a huge price tag for the area too!

Mixedbags · 23/01/2019 21:47

I’m afraid it smacks of ‘no class’ for a property like this. I agree with you. The rooms do not flow..

Reccy2018 · 23/01/2019 21:49

Massive price tag for the area. I live near the fordwich one, it's right next to a pub car park. A pub with a Michelin star, but still!

iklboo · 23/01/2019 21:50

It's like someone was carrying a dozen different mood boards, tripped up and scattered all the photos then thought 'fuck it, no one will notice' as they handed the plans over to the builders.

Or the architect was on serious glue.

MintyT · 23/01/2019 21:51

I love it

SadSongsAndWaltzes · 23/01/2019 21:55

I'm in the "love it" camp! Apart from the lip-fire thing, I think it's ace. Love all the light, space and curves. I don't really like the pale grey/white look myself but it's currently very popular. The world would be a boring place if we were all alike Smile

petitdonkey · 23/01/2019 21:56

Some of it works, the rest of it - strewth!

LimitIsUp · 23/01/2019 21:56

Yuck - wibbly wobbly doors, dark oppressive bathroom and those lips! Parts of it are good though

petitdonkey · 23/01/2019 21:57

Reccy - I thought the price for the Fordwich one is unattainable too... just thought it was an interesting comparison as I know which one id choose if I had to! (and I would love to live in the city centre)

TheGonnagle · 23/01/2019 22:01

Love the Forsanetti fish. The rest of it is grim. Wtaf is the piano doing hanging sadly out of the wall? With all that space buy a fucking grand!

LimitIsUp · 23/01/2019 22:03

I think the price for the other one in Fordwich is bang on actually (my neighbours house in Hampshire in a semi rural location between Southampton and Salisbury is on for £2.5M and is not as appealing as the Fordwich one)

Sickoffamilydrama · 23/01/2019 22:05

I wouldn't say no to either, love the stairs in the 1 at one and the garden in the 2nd.

SadSongsAndWaltzes · 23/01/2019 22:07

I especially love the dramatic bathrooms! Both are lovely though in my opinion.

countrybunny · 23/01/2019 22:08

It's like something from the sims

GingerRogers84 · 23/01/2019 22:08

Love the fish walls but not so much the rest

Reccy2018 · 23/01/2019 22:13

Fordwich is nice but it is surrounded by Sturry and Hersden which are quite rough. The A28 goes right past the town which is always bumper to bumper, and there's a very large traveller site up the road. I wouldn't pay that price to live in that area, however nice the house is! Nice walk to the red lion in Stodmarsh from there though
Nice to "meet" a fellow east kent member petit!

Jayfee · 23/01/2019 22:18

I am really surprised they could do this renovation as it is a grade 2 listed building. When we renovated our grade 2 house we had to keep the egg and dart cornicing and pay someone to come and model and make the missing sections at great cost. They wouldn't let us put a door between two rooms so I had to put the kitchen elsewhere. Yet this house hardly seems to have been constrained by the grade 2 listing. Odd.

Cherrypickerpopoff · 23/01/2019 22:23

What's with the missing skirting in pic 8 with the fox wall?
