How much to knock through kitchen/diner

Any ballpark figures on how much it would be to knock through kitchen to dining room and then replace kitchen and have all flooring running through the same ?

There is already a walkthrough and only one small non supporting wall would need knocking down which is where i would then want the kitchen counter/breakfast bar to run down , so essentially the same layout just no wall and a new kitchen ?

Any advice ! Thanks !

Well for a standard kitchen from Wickes or something plus fitting it would all cost you maybe £10-15k? The wall arch would have to be plastered with fire retardant material and signed off I think.

Non supporting wall, is it brick or plasterboard? Does it have any water pipes or electrical wiring running through it?
If the answer is no then price is negligible.

I've just done what you want and a utility room (tiny though) 2 wall units and boiler boxes in and 3 units below.

So the company I had in:

  • removed old kitchen and took everything away
  • removed non supporting wall (had gas pipes in it and electric
  • supplied and fitted new kitchen this includes some new appliances hob, extractor, raised oven and built in microwave. All my units are integrated (other appliances were bought when I moved in only a year before).
  • Spot lights 12 in total
  • Plastered ceiling and walls
  • tiling walls in utility only (small area and supplied by me)
  • replaced radiator with tall one (i supplied them) and put another tall radiator on a wall that didn't have one.
  • quick step flooring supplied and fitted throughout kitchen diner and utility
That cost £10K

I then sourced my own quartz worktops with upstands for £1450
Got my own sink and taps for about £130
Radiators were £200, tiles were about £150.

So around the £12K mark but if included my dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer I already had then more like £13K.

Also depends where you are in in central Scotland so potentially cheaper than if your in south of England.

Thanks so much for all the info!

The wall is plasterboard and has electrics running through , am in the south east so a more pricey area.

Initially was just planning on a kitchen refit but if the cost to knock the wall down and add flooring throughout is not a great deal more it would be amazing to have a kitchen/diner , need get on and get some quotes!

A couple of builders gave me separate price for knocking wall down it was from £500-£750 so not much really in grand scheme. It's a lot more pricey if supporting wall etc. Def worth doing the space seems so much bigger now!
