It's likely that the carpet, plus the floor if it is chipboard, will be irreparably damaged and need to be replaced. So will any kitchen units that have got wet. Wallpaper will have to come off so that the plaster can dry out. Plasterboard will need to be replaced. If walls are very wet the plaster will have to come off.
if the floor is concrete, water will soak into the walls from the base. The skirting may need to come off and way warp.
Electrical sockets, lighting and appliances should be inspected by an electrician, and probably dried and cleaned or replaced, before they are safe to use.
Pile up, list and photograph all the damaged stuff that has to be thrown away, even Persil and sugar. You will be surprised how it adds up.
You will probably need a big dehumidifier or two, and possibly some fans to blow air onto wet walls (this makes them dry out faster, then the dehum dries the air).
It's much worse if a ceiling comes down, perhaps in a room below.
Buy yourself a builders wet-and-dry canister vac such as this and a spare filter and bags. It will suck water out of carpets and will suck up plaster and builders grit.
Here's one I had earlier:
