Water leak under vinyl flooring - lift and replace?

We have cushion vinyl flooring in our kitchen, laid on a concrete ground slab. We have just found our boiler was leaking and water has been dripping down the pipes behind kitchen units and soaking under the vinyl - we found water oozing out from under the edge of the vinyl where it meets the carpet gripper/trim and I suspect it’s quite soaked underneath.

We’re going to have to lift the vinyl and dry everything out and replace with new vinyl, aren’t we?

I think lifting the vinyl is a good idea to try and dry everything out. When it has dried then you will know the full extent of the damage, ie if there is any sign of mould. You might be lucky and not have to replace it. If there was an excessive amount of water then it may make the vinyl spongy so it probably would be better to replace in those circumstances. Be careful when you are lifting it as it can rip quite easily if the person who fitted it was a bit heavy handed with the glue/adhesive.

Thanks MsMama. Vinyl has definitely gone spongy so I think it will be shot.
