Anyone lived in Marske-By-The-Sea?

Had a total change of plans with out move as we have both ended up with jobs in Stockton area. Been looking at where to live in the teeside area as seems fairly reasonable! Had looked at ingleby barwick, aklam, yarm but always been a dream to live by the sea. Visited Marske-By-The-Sea today and thought it looked lovely but not sure what it actually like as an area to live? Didn't look particularly rough although difficult to tell!
Looking for a fairly good primary and secondary school ideally in an area which is safe and isn't too deprived!
Would anyone have other recommendations?

I'm local from the area, I would highly recommend Yarm/Eaglescliffe, amazing schools and great quality little place with all services, Preston Park, 3 train stations, shops, cafes. 10 min commute to Stockton and a 15 min drive to get onto the A19. It's more pricy than other areas but gorgeous so you can see why. Hartburn is good too. There are cheaper new build developments all along Yarm Road heading into Stockton so you can pick somewhere in the middle depending on budget.

Ingleby has improved over the years and has more services now, you can get a lot for your money, a 4 bed modern detached house for £200k upwards, great safe area with lots of pathways and parks.

Seaside towns in the area are much like others around the UK, can be pretty run down in places and I think they're nicer as somewhere to visit for the day rather than live there. You can drive to the coast in 20-30 mins or jump on a train. Beautiful moors and hills within easy reach, wish we'd moved back there when we bought our last house instead of staying in the city we live in

Thank you so much for all the advice! Been to yarm in peak traffic and with it being a bit pricier puts me off a bit. Eaglescliffe is definitely a possibility! Still considering Marske and Saltburn and going to have an explore of Seaton Carew!

I wanted to move to Eaglescliffe, but by then the children were settled in their schools and it is a different health authority and I couldn't face trying to navigate new services so we moved within the area.

Seaton Carew, whilst having some nice houses, was utterly absimal the last time I had any association with it (albeit a good few years ago), ditto Hartlepool- insular and not a good place for anyone not ‘local’ I spent my formative years in Hartlepool then had some experience working there after I’d ‘escaped’ and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Apologies if anyone lives there now and it’s changed! I’d be surprised if it truly had though
