Cost of moving boiler and stud wall?

We have been quoted a rough cost of 10k to move a boiler from a cupboard in the back bedroom to the loft bedroom upstairs, and to move the stud wall where the boiler was initially housed by 60cm, refusing the size of the back bedroom and increasing the size of the bathroom.

This was a fought quote from a builder also quoting for some work to the loft conversion. Having looked at the price individually of moving a oiler (seems around £1500?!) and moving a stud wall, this seems very expensive.

Has anyone had either of these jobs done and if you could you let me know the cost? Thanks so much!

Get another quote and then you'll know.

Thanks, I can't get another quote because we haven't moved in yet-I just wanted to know how much others paid for similar jobs

That’s extortionate! We moved a combi from the old kitchen to the new extension only and that cost about 1.5k

Sounds extortionate to me. We will be having similar work done in our new house soon (although only moving boiler a short distance), and hoping not to pay as much as that!

ThNks so much, it did seems rather too much to me! I thought it only cost about 1-2k to move a stud wall too...

Even by London's standards, that's very high. I suspect the builder is not interested in the job.
