Smells (weed) from next door

I was reading a thread from a mum of a 5 year old who seemed to be having the same problem a me! The occupent of a 1930's home her son's room was being suturated with the smell of weed from the next door neighbour. My second bedroom and landing area are similarly saturated and without virtual continuous air movment from fan or keeping the windows open my whole house is saturted. It is coming through from the loft. Apparently when these houses were built the cavities in the bricks were not sealed in the loft space and that is were the smell is coming in. I have been complaining to the police and health and safety for months as this is coursing my family health problems but so far no-one has even spoken to the neighbour about his habit. It seems my only option it to get the loft space sealed at my own expence so the neigbour can continue his illigal habit in comfort!

Are you sure he isn't growing it?

He'd have to be smoking a hell of alot for it to seep up into their loft, then through to yours, then down "saturating" your whole house?

I would want the 'gaps' in the lot sealed anyway as isn't it a fire hazard?

Can you report them to the police if is that strong? Even if they smoked cannabis regularly, I don't think it'd saturate your house (more likely to come through open windows if they're smoking outside).

Loft, not lot'

If the smell is continual he is probably growing it. I would seal the gap and report your concerns that you believe he is farming it. They are more likely to act on that.

We have the same issue. We also live in a 1930's semi.

My neighbour has stopped growing it now...we watched the police removing all his gear!

Now he just smokes once a week when his folks go out. I light loads of smelly candles after I've had a couple of good deep breaths in and the smell goes fairly quickly.

You could consider a positive pressure ventilation system, it has the added bonus of combating condensation and mould as well.
