Evening winter viewings? How can this work??

We should be on the market tomorrow (first time), wrong time of year but we are relocating on a job so can’t be helped. I can’t imagine buying a house I’d only seen in the dark. The best bit of our house is it’s large south facing garden too, but they won’t be able to see it!

Are ‘dark’ viewings worth it?

Yes of course. They’ll come back at the weekend or during the day with the estate agent for their second viewing if they like it.

Why do you think they will only see it at night? One could be a SAHP or work nights or weekends....or they will just come on a Saturday.

I've viewed a house in the dark - recommend a strong torch or portable light for the garden and any outbuildings.

Thanks, I’m just new to all this and worried we won’t sell at this time of year/ not sure how to manage kids around it. They have an incredible talent for messing up a room in seconds.

Yep. Viewed our house at 7pm on a pitch black February evening, it was chucking it down with rain and couldnt see to the end of the garden. We put an offer in that evening. If you know, you know!

Good tip about the torches. I guess I could put some of the ( plain) Christmas fairy lights in the garden to lighten it up a bit.

We also viewed our house on a dark November evening. Put in an offer the next day but arranged to go back and view it in daylight (mainly to check the roof looked okay - we'd had a bad experience of a previous house!) First offer rejected so we upped it (still prior to the second viewing) and at the end of the viewing the estate agent asked if we still stood by the offer. Said yes and he said congrats, it's yours! Like pp said - when you know, you know and we didn't want to let it slip through our fingers!
