Inspection Photos

Can I request for photos taken at an inspection to be destroyed if they contain personal items such as underwear and photos of my children? My agents just take photos of the whole room with a wide angle and if you zoom in you will probably be able to read confidential paperwork etc as I have a home office. If I don't feel comfortable with how they do the inspection can I take photos and submit them myself with dates and times on? They do it when I'm not in without my permission (I work away a lot and never get their letters on time, they don't call and are awful at communicating) so haven't had time to hide personal items from view of the camera.

Is this a rental property, landlords or agents cannot just come into your home without notice or your permission. Look up tenants rights. I would complain to their head office or any tenants association you may be part of.

Yeah it's rental and the agents are generally awful. Does that mean the photos will be obsolete if I didn't give permission? They state on the letter that I had 2 weeks to arrange a date otherwise they come on the day stated and I have to pay a £30 'charge' for them to get keys from a safe to enter the houseHmm I don't think they should be doing that

Under gdpr they need to state the purpose of taking the photos and how long they keep them for before deleting. If they share them, ie. with ll , you need to give permission for them to do so or have consented to their policy

You have a common law right to quiet enjoyment so they can't do that. Any of it.
