New bathroom - Where From?

Got to sell our old house but before we do need to put a new bathroom in. Victorian house so either traditional or modern would work. Small bathroom so will be shower over bath, WC, sink/vanity unit. Want reasonable quality but not too expensive. Will also need flooring and tiles, very high ceiling height. Room is something like 140cm x 235cm with c 9 foot high ceilings. Will need light colour as small and only one small window. Has been prone to mold so need to address that. Currently bath, no shower, WC and sink but all having seen much better days and tiles have some mold on and are pretty horrid. We've done ground floor to fairly high standard, traditional, but never got as far as bathroom.

Only bathroom, 3/4 bed property, could also extend into 4th bedroom which is very small and stretching definition of bedroom, you can get single bed plus wardrobe in it plus maybe a chest of drawers and walk round them but only just. Having said that we are keen to keep costs down as we're got 2 properties at the moment and been hit with a £30k bill for new thatched roof on other one so trying to spend under £10k on old property. Can anyone recommend any stores? Really like style of Downton Abbey Range duck egg in Victorian Plumbing but reviews put me off - Burlington range also looks good but also not sure of quality.

Not Soak! Awful awful experience with them.

Burlington is a good make and the style would suit your property.

Thanks very much - I do really like the Burlington range love the old fashioned bath they have with the chrome legs.

Sorry to hear about Soak. It is scary how many bad experiences there seem to be out there with bathrooms. I was all set on Victorian Plumbing until I read reviews and then I was Shock

We recently moved and renovated the whole house including 1 family bathroom, 1 ensuite and a cloakroom. We had previously bought from a website called everythingbathroom.co.uk for our old house and we were happy with the items we ordered so being on a tight budget we got everything through them. So far so good with everything we ordered and the customer service was brillant. We even got our kitchen tap and designer radiators for the whole house from them. We did have to exchange one of the vanity units as it was too big once the plumber strted fitting everything in and also had to change the wall hung toilet for a back to wall as the wall wasn’t strong enough and it was a seamless exchange and free unlike some of the bigger retailers who actually expect you to organise your own returns!!

If you're moving it's probably irrelevant but as a general rule the sanitary ware (toilets, sinks, bidets etc) are all much and a much from online retailers. I've just purchased 6 bathrooms worth from Victoria (not Victorian) Plumbing and everything including customer service was great. It was also in the traditional style. Just type in 'traditional' in the search bar and you'll find them.

What are less reliable are the plumbing items, i.e taps, showers etc.

I tend to make the savings on the sinks etc, and buy the taps from Bristan.

As I said though, if you're moving longevity of taps probably isn't that important.
