We are moving into a house that had an extension done 20+ years ago. The old external wall between the original house and the extension is now an internal wall with a door in it.
We'd really like to remove this wall and open up the space after we move in. (But otherwise not make any changes to the extension). It's obviously a load bearing wall though, so I assume it will be a big job?
Obviously we'll get advice from an engineer etc, but has anyone else done this? What sort of cost might we be looking at to do it? Any pitfalls we should be aware of?
(We're up north btw, that will probably affect the cost compared to e.g. London.)
