Bottom up blinds + Roman blinds

Would this work? Assuming bottom up's inside window recess and Romans outside ?

Need some privacy in bedroom from overlooking windows during day whilst still retaining light. But want something attractive to cover in the evening and prefer Romans to curtains

I've recently made two sets of roman blinds for my daughter's bay window. One from voile for daytime privacy and one from thicker fabric for the evening. I mounted them either side of a batten I attached to the ceiling of the bay recess (I hope that makes sense) which meant certain aspects of the voile one had to be made back to front. Anyway, they look great, give her a lot of flexibility and work really well. As you like romans would something similar work for you?

I need the bottom if the window covered' during day rather than whole window. But its a neat idea

If the bottom is always to be covered have you considered putting up opaque sticky film just on the part you need obscured?

You could also put a rod up and thread some material through it to make a permanent closed 'curtain' but that might look a bit naff.

I would get cafe style shutters on the bottom half of the window?

Googling 'half window curtains' found me this on Pinterest.

Contemplated the sticky film but i think i want the option of fully looking out.

Have thought about cafe shutters yes, having had them i thought perhaps too pricey for a child's bedroom ( plus they yank the living room ones open 🙄).

Has anyone got the bottom up ones?

I've got 'one way' film on the lower half of my bedroom windows. As long as it is lighter outside than in then I have total privacy and a clear view outside. It only cost around £10 from eBay and was very easy to put up. The only downside is that when it is dark outside I can't see out, but everyone can see in, hence only doing the lower section of my windows.
