House Decor without breaking the Bank?!

Just wondering where people by their decor/art/accessories for their house?

For example, I've been looking at art/prints etc and just can't get over how expensive some are! My partner is of the mind of not just getting something for the sake of it but looking at the really bare walls makes me sad.

So, just wondered if any one had any ideas that I hadn't thought of?
Just want to make our place a bit more homely.

I buy most of my furniture second hand, nice antique pieces can be much cheaper than new stuff. In terms of art, I prefer to save up and buy originals - try looking at the affordable art fair, or at local art or photography exhibitions near you?

Have you tried The Range? Loads of reasonably priced accessories there.
Re prints, if you buy them unframed it is a lot cheaper. I have also put posters in very large clip frames for not too much money. Frames can be bought very cheaply.
Charity shops are a good resource, as are auction houses. You can browse auction lots (and bid) online.
E bay is also good for bargains. I got a Kandinsky box print off there for a fraction of the price the major retailers wanted.
It's very pleasing to have found bargains one likes! Happy hunting.

Look on Instagram for original art . So many artists have studio sales on there and you can get some beautiful art.

Second suggestion for the Range, they have some lovely canvases, clocks and decor in. I love it.

I buy prints from independent retailers on Etsy, and buy frames from Ikea.
WIlkinsons also have some lovely bits in, faux flowers if you like that sort of thing, and pillows/throws for reasonable prices.

I only have a couple of bits of art as I’m picky and don’t want anything up that I don’t love.

Generally I have other things on the walls - quite a few mirrors, a noticeboard, family photos, a piece of handmade fabric bought abroad and made into a hanging. And several bare walls, I don’t really mind them as there are other features in the room (victorian house).

You might find it easier to dress the room in other ways if you can’t find artwork you like at a good price.
