Kitchen appliances- ovens!!!

About to make the big order, thought I'd chosen my ovens only to find one is out of stock. I went on Which and now re-thinking it all! I'd settled on Neff but seems AEG get better reviews?

I need a single built in oven and a micro/oven one above.

Suggestions most welcome! I'd quite liked the steam option on the Neff I'd chosen but is it a fad/faff?? It'd be good to hear from anyone who loves their ovens!

Can't really help because we have a free-standing cooker. But I chose it for the functions/temperature - we bake lots of bread so wanted a high max temp. But also wanted something with a long warranty as all the cookers cost so much! In the end we went with AEG. Don't know about a steam option, sounds fun, how often would you use it though?

I've heard the Steam is great for a roast, which we do most weekends..... not that anyone has complained about previous Sunday lunches!

We were restricted by amperage so went for the Neff option. I liked the fact that you knew that the 2 separate ovens would match which was really difficult to work out with some brands. And that for the single oven there were different models going up in price so you could choose the level of features.

I do love mine but I do wonder how long the 1 actual button will last

We have a Siemens steam oven and a Siemens microwave combi - had great reviews, cant comment on its use yet but have heard good things about Siemens 🤞

Hi There

The steam option is great for roasts and baking (like most things once you get used to it, settings etc).

Amperage/Electrical supply, as mentioned above, is really important ... eg pyrolitic ovens generally need to be on their own 16amp supply (radial). So it’s best to check this as it will help you zero in on an actual model.

AEG and Neff both really good brands but like most brands they have a range. At the mid level pricing (within their ranges) there’s not a lot in it so possibly offers (eg extended warranties, multi buy discounts) and general look/style of the oven are what will swing it.l (for Neff it’s often their “Slide and Hide” feature).

As they get pricier however, I’d go with Neff. That said Bosch, Neff and Siemens are part of the same group. Very generally speaking Siemens is their “top” brand, then Neff and finally Bosch. The technology is shared amongst the brands and you can often find an identical rebranded Bosch a little cheaper than its Neff equivalent. Bosch reaches towards the lower end of the market and there are no equivalents at that level within the group brands. Similarly, Siemens can push into the pricier end of Miele without any Bosch or Neff equivalents at that level.

Personally I’m a big fan of the Siemens styling over all its sister brands and AEG but in summary at mid-range Neff vs mid-range AEG you won’t go far wrong whichever you choose. Smile
