Dehumidifier for utility room where we dry all our washing

Any thoughts or recommendations please?

We tumble dry towels and bedding but not keen on tumble drying clothes (and many not tumble dryable anyway).

In summer door and window open but now it’s cold and they are closed, I’ve started to run the extractor fab in there all night or all day as I’m worried about the moisture from the wet washing. But that makes the room chilly and our bathroom is above it and the bathroom floor is freezing! So I was thinking a lowish cost low energy dehumifyer?

I'd recommend keeping door closed when in use, seems to be more effective at drying the washing

Love my dehumidifier. You should be able to drain it into the sink of on a work top. I put our on full clothes dry mode with the door shut. Clothes dry in 4hours. When not drying clothes switch it to eco mode and then leave door open to treat the rest of the house. It’s the best thing ever.

Love mine too - in fact just bought a second one, from Lidl. We have one in laundry/utility, and new one upstairs (in new bathroom). It's great, also chucks out heat which is a bonus in winter. Aldi also had them recently, similar to Lidl, about £100. I would say be sure to get a 'proper' one with a compressor, not the smaller cheaper ones which are quite feeble in comparison.

Just to update in case anyone is interested Grin. The Meaco dehumidifier is bloody brilliant! Clothes drying way more quickly than before and it is totally hassle free. Have kept utility room door closed. Have it set to 50 unless I have hung out a really heavy duty load of washing (lots of wet jeans, thick heavy tops etc) when I’ve changed it to 35 or 40. It blows out air and you can direct the airflow towards the washing so it gently moves in the breeze (also helping it dry). Room is warmer too. It monitors the humidity and stops for half an hour when it reaches the level you’ve set. Then tests again and comes on if required. I’ve emptied it once (tank is big!) and used the water to go in the steam iron. I’m not quite sure how to pour it easily from the tank as it sort of poured out of two holes (the tank lid doesn’t seem to come off) but maybe just me being daft as it’s all so well designed I can’t imagine there isn’t a simple way to pour from the tank. I’d like to pour into a big bottle to save it for the iron ideally.
It takes up very little space. Sits on the floor with its air flow directing diagnonally up towards my ceiling airier and makes no noise other than the quiet sound of the air blowing (which you cant even hear once the door is closed).

I put jeans in my tumble dryer. Why don’t you? I dry virtually no clothes from the washing machine and the tumble dryer can cope with outerwear, jeans and shirts so everything really. Never had any condensing in my laundry room. Save the water for your iron.
