Talk to me about door curtains

Our house is the house of many extensions (like that when we bought it) so, to help with light levels in each room, many interior doors are class, including the one from the enclosed porch into the dining room end of the living/dining room. The porch is freezing as it is mainly constructed of poorly fitting windows.
I keep thinking about getting a door curtain for the winter months but the only one I have ever seen in real life was a hideous thing in my great aunts house. Does anyone have one these days? Do they work? Would it look really odd to only have it over the door way on quite a wide wall?

We got a grey tweed type eyelet one from Dunelm. We have a conservatory with just an internal door into the dining room and it lets so much heat out. It does make quite a difference, but is only temporary until we turn the conservatory into a proper room. Covers the awful door too!

I'm thinking of getting one for our new glass back door. Have a look at portiere rods, which swing open with the door, making it a bit neater.

I have one, as we have an original Victorian front door which you can see daylight through, I got it from an eBay seller made to my measurements from a laura Ashley fabric that they supplied, I can’t remember the seller but would imagine can still find on eBay.
I have pretty tiebacks, so it’s looks tidy when not being used & kept away from the door drapes nicely against the wall, also definitely does help in keeping draughts out.

In my last house, I had a Portiere Rod fitted - it's ingenious! It's a rod that lifts up the curtain as you open the door......and it certainly kept the draughts at bay.
