Which would you choose? Getting new windows and can't decide on colour. I've a dark red brick house

This has been our dilemma too. Just today we went to the showroom and looked at some swatches as I didn’t want white plasticy but when I saw some of the trendier greys decided that was too much of a statement. I narrowed it down to an off white and an ice cream but ruled out the buttery cream options. I think we’re going with the off white as the lighter shade helps to break up the red brick.

I’m so glad I visited though as online I had pretty much made up my mind on an Irish oak! So much can change when you see the swatches!

Thanks @Missyj1. I do need to visit a few showrooms and maybe get some samples

Yeah- we ended up googling images in their office because what I liked on one window didn’t look as good when it was all the windows on red brick. I started envying those who had part rendered bays as my house is all a dark red brick which most colours made even heavier!

White or grey, I would imagine cream will just look like white that has aged or needs cleaning

Not cream it will just look old or dirty.

We have grained effect off-white windows with cream and brown brick walls on an old cottage. I probably wouldn’t have chosen upvc but like them as they don’t look like plastic from outside and people are generally surprised that they are. Our previous house was red bricks on a modern estate and if I was going to replace the windows there now would go for grained white, if that exists? I think that it’s the flat shinyness that makes them look plasticky. Off-white is nice but I think whether it would look okay would depend on whether you’re surrounded by similar houses, if yes it could just look yellowed.

We got grained white too. It definitely looks less shiny and plastic than plain bright white and matches the white surrounds better for being less dazzling.
