Carpet Quote

I know size of property is a major factor, but does anyone have an idea of how much it would cost to re-carpet a small, two bedroom flat (over two levels)?

I just need an approximate idea before I look at getting companies in. It would only need to be a basic type, nothing too flash.

Thank you in advance!

Depending on the size of the room and quality of carpet. £400 - £500 for an average 12x12 room. Ish.

Thank you, I just needed a rough idea of what to expect Smile

We paid £1200 2 years ago to carpet 3 bedrooms (pretty decent sizes) hallway, stairs and living room in easy clean prolly - it’s quite a deep pile and good quality.

My advice is to haggle- get lots of quotes! Also choose the Same carpet throughout to get the best price.

Don’t scrimp on underlay. It will help your carpet last.

You tend to get the best prices from the independents

Prolly = prolypropelene

Thank you! That’s put my mind at rest Grin

Give a few local places a ring and ask them for their fitting costs. Say you're working to a tight budget and want to know how much you can look to spend on the carpet itself.

Go for cloud 9 or similar underlay- it means you can spend a bit less on carpet and still get a good cushion/ it will preserve the bounce on a better carpet. Cloud 9 is a brand name- there are other options- but the shops will be able to point you in direction of good underlay

Fitting will be the cheapest bit. I think ours took 0.5 day and they came back for another hour the next day to set stairs or something. You usually pay the fitters direct in cash if using independent- this is good cause you’re not paying a mark up on labour

Cloud 9! Thank you Smile

Measure your rooms then order online from flooringsuperstore.co.uk. Find an independent carpet fitter. I've saved £00s doing this. They send you carpet samples in the post.
