Does anyone have any experience or advice on hive/nest type programming heating devices? We are moving so looking to install one soon.

We went from a classic Honeywell "24 h timer on-off-on-off with boost" to a Hive a year ago. It's bloody excellent with the near-infinite temperature graduations and scheduling, and the remote control app is a joy when you're on the sofa and discover you're chilly.

The Hive isn't a learning one, it just follows a seven day schedule you set up. The Nest apparently tries to be clever, but I don't trust them (I work in IT :D)

Thanks @SpoonBlender we've had a control system previously and I like being able to pure warm the house from the park etc.. know what you mean about not trusting best, not sure about learned behaviour the AI is a bit worrisome!

Our Hive came for £80 in last year’s Amazon Black Friday sales, I’d probably not have jumped without that sort of pricing. I don’t think it has saved us money, but it has made us more comfortable.

We have the best. Have no idea how it tries to be clever as mine doesn’t 12min. It’s just a thermostat on my phone to me!!

We have the Honeywell Total Connect.
Allows individual control of each radiator and the ability to group them together (think hall, stairs & landing). Can be controlled from phone, console & Alexa. Not found anything else that comes close as a retrofit.

Thanks for responses, I'll look at each of these when we figure out the set up - we may be putting on a new boiler so I'm sure the engineer will have thoughts.
