Lino floor for bathroom

I have fallen in love with a Harvey Maria vinyl floor (lattice in pebble grey) and want it in our new bathroom which will hopefully be fitted in November. Is it usual for the floor to go under the loo as this is what I would prefer? I asked in John Lewis and they said that the fitter would need to come and measure up once room is ready (we need building work to be done first) and then there would be a 6 week lead time which would mean we would not have a loo for all this time. The only solution they could offer was floor going round loo and then it being sealed. Is this what usually happens or not? Thanks.

We had the lvt floor laid after the bathroom was fitted, apart from the bath panel. The base of the toilet wasn’t screwed to the floor so the flooring fitter could slide the lvt tiles under it instead of cutting to go round it. The bathroom fitter then screwed the toilet base down and fitted the bath panel afterwards.

Thank you wowfudge - I didn’t realise that was an option!

You could get the wall hung toilet? It's so much easier to clean a bathroom floor with the wall hung. I was anxious about it but now totally love it!

Just thought we may also have a problem with the bath! It’s acback to the wall bath but all in one piece so now panel to take off!

Thanks for the tip re wall hung loo - I’m not sure it would work for us as the loo is under the window?

I've had both and it really makes no difference - as long as the flooring is properly sealed at the joint between toilet and floor. But then it should be sealed at all the joints with walls, etc, anyway.

I have a wallhung toilet under a window. The fitters built a box to conceal the cistern and the frame from which the toilet hangs. It is at windowsill height right across that wall. It is tiled and continuous with the other walls, and provides a very useful, stable, shelf.

We have it cut around the loo and sealed with sealant but the loo was already there, so not the same situation. I mainly came on to say that I really like your choice of lvt, I liked that one but the Harvey María parquet design fitted in better with our bathroom, we’ve had it down for about 18 months and it’s great.
