Anyone?

This follows on from this thread - but I thought I needed to change the title as my questions had changed: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/property/3371854-Mereway-John-Lewis-kitchen-or-DIY-or-other

I'm veering towards Burbidge or possibly 1909 from Units Online, as English Revival is just a bit too expensive but Second Nature's Milton, while affordable, is just a tiny bit too rustic and 'planky' looking.

Units Online appears to offer the huge advantage (over DIY Kitchens) of a design service, which reassures me a lot. Especially so as I'm not replacing a kitchen but building a new one.

TIA for any helpful comments Smile

I have a Burbidge Kew kitchen in Alabaster.
I contacted a local kitchen fitter who said he uses Burbidge. He designed the layout for me with some bespoke items, eg cupboard to house the boiler.

I love it, sturdy, solid, had it for 18 months now, and not one single problem. The fitter has never had to come back and fix anything.

I also have Burbidge (Petworth) and bought from Units Online. I didn't like the Second Nature in person, the Burbidge seemed much nicer.

Ah thank you both. I'd wandered off for a while.

Yes, I think Burbidge do look nicer and more period Victorian/Edwardian than Second Nature, who seem to by trying to tick all the traditional/modern boxes at once, so not quite blending in to a period house - which is frustrating, as the local company who do SN are lovely and offered a great price.

I think I'm going to go with Burbidge from Units Online but am looking at DIY Kitchens too. The Burbidge range seems to have the particular unit shapes I want but, compared to DIY and even to SN through the local designer, it is a lot more expensive.
