Does anyone know which fence belongs to which house?

The fence on the left hand side of the garden (facing down the garden from the back door) has blown over in the wind. Not sure whether it is my fence or not. My neighbours on that side are on holiday so can't talk to them about it - they are quite garden proud and a lot wealthier than I am so the fence on that side is quite a lot posher than the one on the right.

I have already replaced the fence on the right, going halves with that neighbour, so I'll offer to go halves with this neighbour too. I am just a bit worried that they will want a very expensive fence panel rather than one I can afford, or that they might say that it's my responsibility on my own.

Is there a rule? It isn't clear on the purchase paperwork.

The T Mark on the plan shows who is responsible for the boundary.

If there are no T marks then responsibility is shared. However, the fence itself belongs to whoever bought it. If you have no proof of who bought it, again it is shared.

The gov.uk website has lots of information on it.

We had to apply to land registry for an additional document to show all the covenants etc which also details the boundaries and who is responsible.

The solicitors just handed over the title plan which literally identified the house we were buying. All the other stuff was held by land registry.

You can apply for your own documents (and everyone elses as they are public record) yours I believe can be emailed to you, if you want another property to confirm their boundary responsibility it is sent out in the post, or at least it was 10 years ago when we did this.
