Flooring options

Hi all,

So I live in a new build house. Currently have carpet down but reviewing the flooring options. 3 kids, 1 has special needs and is incredibly messy, plus i have a dog and I'm sick of washing carpets.

Considered wood flooring but if a drink gets thrown, toilet accidents etc liquid can get under it.

So wondering what options there are for flooring that is easy clean and mostly waterproof...

I did consider stone or tile but imagine stone would look out of place in a new build, and tile will be very cold.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Wood look lvt.

Tile is good but things smash easily on them. As WowFudge says LVT like Karndean sounds like it would suit you.

Sheet vinyl which looks like real floor boards - ours has fooled everyone it looks so realistic. Vinyl flooring isn't the cheap option it used to be - good quality vinyl these days is hardwearing, warm underfoot and easy to clean and things don't immediately smash to pieces when dropped, unlike on our old tiled floor which itself chipped in several places over the years.

I wouldn't have the slot together laminate because any spills would sink between the joins and soon lift the laminate and maybe if it was milk or something the smell might linger as you can't clean where it seeps through.

I've ruled out carpet and laminate because of the lack of ability to clean properly. I will have a look st the vinyl thankyou

Also look at marmoleum. It is hard wearing and you can sand damage out
