What colour/ type paint for a kitchen?

I'm getting my kitchen replastered and decorated following an insurance claim. I was expecting thrm to just repaint in magnolia or white but I've been told I can have any colour/ paint (not F&B, but anything dulux/ crown/ valspar etc)

So what's a good neutral colour please? I can't have a bold colour as the kitchen is quite dark (the main part of the kitchen has no natural light as the only windows are in the adjacent breakfast area). Worktops/ upstands are a sort of bronzy colour and cupboards a light oak.

Any thoughts? I will need to get a few testers I think to be certain but wanted to get some ideas first to narrow it down rather than just wandering aimlessly round b&q!

Magnolia is a warm white but very dated. I think a stone coloured white might be more modern. I tend to avoid yellow whites. Light reflecting pale colours tend to be grey/white. If that suits your kitchen, look in the pale grey palette. A very pale blue (similar to Borrowed Light by F&B) also reflects light. Another pale colour is Mizzle. This is also F&B, but check out the colour and see if you can match it. It’s a pale grey/green. Like sea foam.

You can add brighter accessories.

We just have standard emulsion. However we have good extraction.

Pale blue, would go nicely with the oak cupboards Dulux have quite a few colours, I have country skies by Dulux in my kitchen which is a blue with grey undertone, or maybe a pale sage green.

Olive green

Try and avoid colours such as sage green or olive greens that soak up light. Try and find ones that brighten up a dark corner. Get a few trial pots and see what makes the room feel lighter. Good lighting helps too!

We have just had our painted white in a specialwashable paint. It is great Any splashes just wipe off. I would highly recommend it It may cost a bit more but it is worth the extra.

Pale blue or teal with white. I am looking for a similar colour as I have a dark kitchen.
