Anyone have any idea how much to light garden using armoured cable?

I have been inspired by the garden at the house I am staying in on holiday, which has lovely spotlights through the garden. I hate the garden in my new house, and I think lights would transform it.

The bit I would want lit is maybe 100 foot by 100 foot. It is all soft ground.

I am impatient to know if I can afford it! I will have to wait until I get back for a quote.

Sorry, don't know prices but also look at low voltage led systems. These can be diy installed.

Not sure about cost but when we laid armoured cable to our garage, it had to go in a very deep trench. Digging the trench was the painful and expensive part.

You don't need to dig a trench. Electricians basically do something called moling. They basically go in at intervals and use a small machine to push it through to thr next interval.

My electrician is a normal electrician and when we were talking about laying cable to an out building for lights, I commented that it was far away and we'd have to dig up thr lawn and he said, oh no, we basically do moling, costs much less and you don't need to dig up thr lawn, it's really quick.

I don't know price but I wouldn't expect too much.

Armoured cable is expensive but you could reduce what you need by using LED plug and play lights. Armoured cable is to stop you getting a shock if you put a spade through the wire. LED lights don't use enough voltage to give you a shock
