Funny shaped lounge/diner

Does anyone have ideas on how we can make this floorplan work with tables/sofas

In an ideal world we would be able to put a corner sofa somewhere. There are 2 tv points. One on the wall where the stairs are by the french doors and 1 on the wall opposite in the same place. (Hope that makes sense)

No room for toys needed as garage has been converted into a playroom- maybe a small corner for the most loved toys!

Thanks

If it were me I'd have the dining table behind the kitchen sort of tucked away in that corner (means you don't have to carry food across the entire lounge) and then a large, potential L-Shaped sofa across the left wall. Then Tv would go on the right hand wall next to the stairs or even in the right hand corner on a unit. Obviously haven't seen the photos of the room so providing the walls were all flat and there's not a fireplace somewhere in the way then I'd do that!

If that were my house I would put the dining table in the bottom let corner then put a two/three sitter sofa on the top left (not right up against the wall) and two arms chairs facing the sofa, maybe with a coffee table between and an area rig underneath the lot. The TV if you really need it (think about this carefully, TV spoils quality of life for a lot of families, sometimes it is better to hide it in a bedroom or watch on laptops so that it doesn't interfere with family life) can be mounted on the wall opposite the French doors so you can watch it from the armchairs as well as the sofa.

I agree with others dining table in the first little bit by kitchen wall.
Then Id probably have a corner sofa to define the lounge as a rectangle. Then put other furniture in.

I've seen quite a few new build show homes with that kind of lounge diner and the table is always there and furniture used to define the lounge as the main rectangle.

www.houseplanshelper.com/living-room-layout.html

This site is great for helping layouts and flow.

Can you post dimensions as image is tiny?

On the whole I agree with others that the dining table should stay near the kitchen. I also think that the furniture for the lounge part should square off an area for the remaining space (maybe leaving room for a desk/study/reading type area?) instead of filling the whole space. It's nice to actually be close to other people!

We have a lounge which is relatively snug - 3.5x3.7 - but have a separate reading area in the conservatory beside the garden.

Thanks everyone

Its 19 foot max x 18.3 foot.

I agree about splitting the room. I just dont want to have any odd spaces left, or close off one part of the lounge with furniture.

I'll take a look at the website- thanks @thecatsthecats
