Pan drawers - where can I get inserts?

We’ve just had our kitchen installed and I have some amazing 800mm wide pan drawers. I wanted to store crockery in there but I can’t find any reasonably priced plate holders / stackers. Ikea used to do some bamboo ones but can’t find any now. And I don’t really want to spend Blum prices.

Any bright ideas?

Amazon and eBay - I got a few things from there and also a storage shop place in Chester with an online shop. The best thing was a plate rack that the plates go in vertically.

I got mine here. they have various types. Seem very strong.

you can also get hidden internal drawers, which are handy.

Thanks both. I had been thinking of stacking them in piles and hadn’t thought about vertical storage so will look into that.

Sorry to hijack, but we’re getting lots of pan drawers in our new kitchen later this month. What other storage organisers have you found useful?

I waited until I knew what was going to go where and then got what I thought would work. A full drawer size cutlery insert was one thing I got, plus some shallow non slip drawer boxes I got from TK Maxx but IKEA and Addis do similar. I also got some plastic peg board things which mean I can separate pans and store the lids upright. Non slip shelf liner is great for stopping things from moving around too.

Thanks wowfudge. I’ve spent months dreaming about what goes where and now the time is almost here I’m a bit scared! Just waiting for worktops to go on

for the top pan drawer, I've used the "hidden" internal drawers, I think they are 83mm deep but others are available. You can put the rigid liners in them if you have lots of cutlery, keys, pens, torch batteries, assorted small junk.

For the large drawers, there are "walls" and "dividers" that clip in and you can rearrange them to your whim. I use Blum and they clip into raised side and back pieces that double the depth of the drawer "tray" and prevent things falling out, also make it more rigid. Other manufacturers doubtless make something similar. Hafele is another big brand. If you are in doubt of the make of your drawers, take them out and it is probably stamped on the metal side runners or something. Places like B&Q sell something that looks similar but is not as good.

Hardware suppliers are usually cheaper than kitchen showrooms.

Plates are very heavy and might crack if you pile them up. IMO they are better in wall cabinets, with plenty of shelves so you can have small piles, say, six inches, but big enough to take your serving dishes. Some dining plates are just too big to fit in some wall cabinets. You can get larger wall cabs that your matching doors will fit; either "boiler cabinets" that are about 450mm deep, or made to order in matching material. Sometimes they will just fit if you cut the back wall out.

lift-out plate-holders here might be rather heavy.

Magnet do a good one. Wooden and adjustable.
