Dulux colour of the year 2019 = heavy nicotine staining!

It's actually called spiced honey but honestly it's the colour most of my new house (previously occupied by a heavy indoor smoker for 40years) was prior to me getting scrubbing with sugar soap. Ive tried looking on my tablet as well as phone, incase it was the colour not showing properly on my display but it didn't help. What are they thinking?!

It's awful. It's just brown!

I didn't even like it in the 90s. It seemed everyone had a "mocha" coloured living room back then.

Arse! I just painted over (literally just finished the final coat) where someone's nailed chipboard panels over the original period doors in our house and I've removed them and they were all that colour underneath.

'Twas vile.

I'm a design student and we had the creative director of Dulux come in to university to do a talk for us. It was genuinely so interesting finding out how they forecast the future trends for interiors/colours and also how they name the different colours they come up with. I loved it! Yes the way they describe things is very wanky but the person who came to talk to us was so passionate about it so it didn't sound wanky when she spoke about it all.

I agree though it's a horrible colour Grin

Brilliant @HomeOfMyOwn I thought it was an utterly crap color. I warmed to Heartwood but spiced honey is nicotine shite

@70isaLimitNotaTarget hooray for grey

It’s the colour that farrow and ball used to call ‘cats paw’ a few years back. It’s very New England but they have skies three times bigger then ours.

It's brown.

Might be ok if it was a good few shades lighter maybe.
What is spiced honey anyway orange and brown mixed together to make...brown

numptynuts · 09/09/2018 09:45

I really like that shit colour!

Haint · 09/09/2018 09:50

I quite like it. I’ve resisted grey and we have Cats Paw in a few rooms. It’s a similar colour to the dulux one. It’s a good backdrop for mid century furniture / gold accessories (which are v fashionable currently) and art.
