Range cookers - stoves or rangemaster?

Can anyone advise please, new kitchen going in during October and we were planning on going with a rangemaster but have recently seen bad reviews as the company have moved production to turkey and build quality appears to have gone downhill. Any help please?

There's no reason, per se, BubblesBuddy but it just wouldn't fit in our kitchen because there is a chimney stack with an extractor built in and the only cavity is where the range is fitted. It's a bit like this photo, only our kitchen isn't as big! There just isn't really a viable oven replacement option except like for like unless we want a total kitchen re-furb which we can't afford and don't really need.

I was looking at the Stoves ranges in John Lewis OP. Do you have a John Lewis reasonably locally? Or a Currys?

We've got a 10 year old Rangemaster never had issues but no idea if current issues.

We have a rangemaster classic deluxe induction hob and I love it, absolutely fantastic.

I chose Rangemaster Nexus because the knobs were more sturdy than some of the other models. I've had it three years now, no issues. The oven does heat up quickly.

Just put the hob in the chimney under the extractor and decent ovens elsewhere. You don’t have to have ovens under a hob. You could have pan drawers.

Miele do a range cooker! Neither fit my gap though and they're a bit lot out of my price range, starting at £10,800! Miele Range Cookers

I can't move the cooker as the rest of the kitchen is fitted with a very expensive hand made Martin Moore.. But if I had the money to re-do the kitchen I would have eye level ovens. Right now I'm just looking for a like for like replacement for my elderly Britannia range. The newer kitchen and integrated appliances appear to have been built around the range because the kitchen itself is only about 5 years old (info. left by previous owners).

The Stoves Richmond is looking like my favourite at the moment.

OP have you decided yet?

Saffysgang10 · 12/09/2018 10:40

Hi yoga drone,
Yes, we decided on the Richmond s900dft and have gone to currys as they have a further £100 off the marked price, plus the stoves offer of cash back.
We will keep our fingers crossed that we have made the right choice - it won't be for lack of research if there is a problem!

I think I'm going for a stoves one. The grill section is bigger. On the rangemaster and smeg it looks like the grill is only good for flat things like toast.

That's a good deal Saffysgang10. I hope it lives up to expectations Smile

Hi, we are also weighing up the options for either a Rangemaster or Soves range. We are considering the Stoves S1000DF 100 cm Dual Fuel Range Cooker or the Rangemaster Professional Deluxe 100 cm Dual Fuel.
We are limited to 100 cm width.
Any feedback would be really helpful. My husband’s preference is for the Stoves.

We currently have a gas range cooker, but do quite fancy replacing it (it's literally falling apart 😄) with an induction one. The problem is that the only induction cookers we've used at other people's houses have been very on-y / off-y. Have we only used rubbish ones?

Fini · 21/09/2019 20:36

Dear Saffysgang10 can you please tell me how is your cooker one year after;;;😊

Fini · 21/09/2019 20:40

I'm in between the stoves richmond 600df and the delonghi ddc 606-df but because I'm in Greece I cant see them or touch them!!! Can anyone help me which one has better quality;;;

Another poster looking for a new range cooker, have seen both the Stoves Richmond and the Prof Deluxe dual fuel in real life.
I really like the handy rack on the rangemaster so am veering towards that but it would be good to hear more....

Any 2025 advice on Stoves .v. Rangemaster range cookers? (Especially induction hobs).

Hazeltwig · 20/01/2025 18:22

Buy an Aga. Ours is about 45 years old now 😁
