Porcelain Stone Floor

I’m currently in love with this stone floor but I can neither afford real stone or have the inclination to clean it every half an hour especially with an often muddy dog.

I’m therefore looking do a porcelain version, does anyone have any recommendations where the best place to buy them?

I’ve just used a Matt porcelain tile in my bathroom, we’re so pleased with it that we’re planning to use the gloss version for our kitchen floor when it’s refitted shortly

The one we used we’re Regal from topps tiles and comes in multiple sizes and shades

We used cream but to me I would describe it as stone

Mandarin tiles had porcelain that was pretty indistinguishable from actual stone..

I happened to find one in Wickes that I preferred to the ones in Topps. You'll want some spares to tuck away.

Don't do it. It will only ever look clean for ten minutes after cleaning.

black, or dark grey grout will look less dirty.

Have a good look around the tile shops in your area.
I’ve got a stone look-a-like’ee in my kitchen. It’s a matt finish which I think looks more like stone than a shiny gloss finish.

Much easier to clean than stone. No maintenance. Definitely go for a dark grout.

I wouldn’t have gloss finish in a kitchen as it marks and is slippery when wet. I have limestone lookalike porcelaine and no one has spotted the difference. It has a light grout and we just steam clean it once a month. It’s been down 8 years and it’s still perfect and clean. We have it in our large hall too and we have a dog and live on a bridleway! Muddy paw marks just wipe off.

Mine came from a local shop but similar is widely available. I’m also a fan of Porcelanosa. Always classy tiles.

A porcelain version will get just as dirty with a muddy dog surely?
