Cheapest composite worktop out there?

We're planning a new kitchen from ikea - there's about 7 metres of worktop required, so quite a lot! I'd like to see if we can afford anything better than laminate, bought separately - we can maybe stretch to about 1K for the worktops, but really not much more.

I'm waiting on a quote from these guys for coloured formica bonded to plywood which looks quite nice, or I found Mirostone recommended on here as the cheapest option someone had found, comes in at £388 for 3m, so we'd be looking at about 800-900 for 7m I think?

Anyone found anything that can beat the Mirostone for cost? We're not interested in reclamation yard stone or anything due to needing something simple and quick to install, and could go for wood, but every single person we talk to and thing we read basically says 'don't do it it will ruin your life', so it seems it's laminate or cheapest composite we can find!

What about Ikea composite worktop - I thought that was pretty cheap? Also you can get Formica worktop at other suppliers than the one you linked to ( I have found them quite expensive when looking at kitchens) - even on eBay

I'll second Ikea. I had it in my previous kitchen and still looked good after 15 years. Only reason we changed it was because we had a total renovation.

Found an ikea brochure online, but tbh it's not that cheap £250 per metre, versus the mirostone above £388 for 3m... wondering if I can even beat that now tbh.
