What would you use to cut a bath panel. My bath is not a standard size thanks to the way it was fitted, boxed in and tiled at either end.

So I bought the size nearest that fitted and I have trimmed it to size, only I am not happy with it. I have enough length for one more trim before I will need to buy another one.

Methods used so far a) hacksaw b) titanium snips.

Google tells me that both of the above are possible solutions but they are not neat enough. There will be sealant involved but my cuts are not currently straight enough!

I have got a jigsaw with a fine blade or I can buy a new saw. Can you tell me which one will be most likely to produce a good result? I did put masking tape on the line I wanted to cut but it is still rubbish!

If I mess it up completely I might go for an mdf panel which I know I can cut straight easily enough but this one was £90 and I would rather try to save it first.

Multicutter and a straight edge to steady your hand against.

Jigsaws naturally wander, although you can clamp a straight edge to the workpiece to run the soleplate against. Hold the saw on the Waste side of the edge

If its a straight line and you csn lay your hands on s circular saw, clamp it to a scrap piece of board to prevent it vibrating and cut through both together.

If it is thin moulded plastic, replace it when it cracks with a moulded painted MDF one.

Thanks Piglet John. I have just bought a multi tool! I wish I had bought a mdf one.
