Hi we had cctv fitted in December the installer hooked it up to all our tv's via what I thought was red eye (I'm not great with tech). We had to turn the power off about 2 weeks ago for some work to be done when we switched it back on the cctv would not show on any tv. We tried retuning which didn't help and although we can now get cctv still via an app on the phones we can't access it via the tv - can anyone assist me in getting this retuned please? I've attached pictures of the system via the app and the device I believe allows the transmission to the TVs - TIA

Not an expert butvdo those cables run to each tv you used to be able to view cctv on?

Hi @VeniVidiWeeWee no that's just the main box on the central tv I think (no expert) the system used red eye to transmit to each of the other TVs

I wonder if, when you turned the power off your tv lost the ip address of the router.

Thanks @VeniVidiWeeWee I'll take a look!

Ok so the internet issues hasn't solved this I have identified that we have a Technomate TM-RF HD IR, HDMI RF Modulator with 9V IR Control and HDMI Loopthrough - it seems this can via a coaxial cable show the cctv on tvs- anyone any ideas on how to do this please?

no idea about that system but tv’s only work 1 way- which is they receive an input and display that input based on your controlling it.

Look at the main box- it has a sky cable and another hdmi cable. Trace where they go. Do they go to the back of a tv? Or to your sky box? In which case your cctv is on an hdmi select. If they go to another box that transposes that signal to “red eye” (I presume you mean infrared?) then the receiver box will have some kind of transmission as well (maybe via coax or hdmi also).

If you can work out where the signal is being sent you can work out how to see it. Also can I ask why you went with an IR system as this was fitted so recently?

@hiddenmnetter thank you I'll have a look I just can't understand why it was working and then suddenly stopped after the electric was switched off as this has happened a fair few times due to renovation work. We went for the RF my DH tells me as it was to also project sky into our other rooms we have only recently upgraded to sky q and have one mini box but have sky in more than 2 rooms.

Sorry if it’s RF that’s a radio frequency. Then you will need to have some kind of radio receiver which will be a bit of kit near or on the TV (same as IR but doesn’t require line of sight). It seems unlikely that you would simply have a straightforward broadcast frequency that the TV picks up by itself. Otherwise you might have some RF cable plugged directly into the aerial socket. If it’s coming from the skybox then that’s the sky feed but then you’ll have to check the skybox for the cctv feed.

Thank you @hiddenmnetter
