As I while away a rainy bank holiday morning, I was wondering how any of those posters who were struggling to sell their houses and asked for advice here had got on?

Hoping to exchange this week!

Shutupsidney · 27/08/2018 10:43

Just as well as we've exchanged on the house we are buying and had 6 months to complete

@Shutupsidney - that's great news. Which one was yours?

The 'over priced' 'weird dining room' stark' 'cheap furniture' one Grin

I'll have to be a detective then!

Completed July 2017. I despaired as I thought it would never sell and I missed out on my dream home. Well an even better house came on the market, currently sat in it whiling the bank holiday away 😊

Thanks @wow Grin

Still struggling to sell, are now going down the route of renting our house out and remortaging it to buy the house we want but its been an utter nightmare.

We recently had it valued again and in the 6 months between the home report being done and this valuation its dropped 10k in value.

Viewers are non-existent and the house is now worth less and what we paid for it although we have already dropped the price several times so knew we would get less than we paid. All viewer feedback is they like the house and the price but didn't like the location

I feel for you - we rented a house out in the past when there wasnt a sniff of interest. Five years later we sold it at a good price.

We were not staring at Brexit down the barrel of a gun in the past though. I was amazed to see that in my nearest larger town of about 50,000 people, there are 803 properties for sale. Even on previously sought after estates they are not selling. Prices appear to be too high. Where houses sold for £360,000 in the early spring, vendors now want £375,000-£390,000 for identical properties. Obviously they are not going to get it unless the higher price reflects a fantastically improved house, but that’s not the case. Vendors seem unrealistic and there are loads of new properties too. The market is flooded.
