How many viewings did you get per week and whereabouts in the country are you?

We're SE London and it's been:

Week 1: 2 viewings
Week 2: 1 viewing (was 2, but 1 cancelled)
Week 3: 1 viewing

Don't know whether school holidays are having an impact, or perhaps I'm expecting too much, but it seems quite low?

How about you?

Thanks ChangoMutney

I did market it at the price they suggested and have had that valuation confirmed both before and since by other agents.

I am very unlikely to ever be in a bidding war situation. My house is very unusual and very rural. I didn't expect dozens of viewings but also didn't expect to be very pressured by my EA to drop the price by 10% from week 3 onwards.

I think price might be an issue, but have had masses of feedback from friends / family that the pictures didn't do it justice. I also notice that hardly anything is moving in this area in my price band.

I have no idea what to do but will probably stay off the market now until Brexit is over.

5 viewings in the first week, and sold within the week. (Northern England)

North London. Put on market in July. 4 viewings in 6 weeks. 2 of those parties were second viewings but decided it was overpriced. No offers. I was concerned it was over priced to begin with by EA was assured by him it wasn’t despite me going through recent sold prices of similar houses on area. But as of yesterday he has decided we need to drop price by 15 percent if we are to sell. Which is more than I anticipated!

It’s definitely the worst month to market. But I think if you must sell then in London at moment price cuts are the only way to do it.

Went on mid July for the price ea suggested based on what we knew was the going rate of properties selling around us. Had 5 viewings in first 2 weeks and then nothing whole of August so far .. we have no chain and are keen to move.
I’m hoping that things pick up in September if not I’ve agreed with ex (House being sold due to divorce) we take it off for a few weeks do some painting etc and then try again at a lower price. I’ve actually spoken to a few of those companies who buy houses to see how much they’d give me.

Am in Liverpool.

South coast, viewing arranged two minutes after house went on market, offer close to asking price made immediately! Agent said market really slowing down and prices dropping at the top end.

sanityisamyth · 27/08/2018 01:21

I've had 8 viewings in 4 months. SW England here.

Five asking price offers the day after it went live on Rightmove. North-west.

This time of year is slow for all sorts of industries, so I'm guessing it will be the case for house buying. Another dead period is Xmas.
